Finding Our Way: One Family's Journey with Visual Impairment
When my son was born, I imagined his future as every parent does. Learning about his visual impairment brought emotions I had not been prepared for. Alongside unconditional love came fear, uncertainty, confusion, and countless questions.
I entered a world I knew very little about. There were medical appointments, specialists, therapies, school meetings, individualized education plans, accommodations, Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility training, and ongoing advocacy.
Over time, I realized that many parents were carrying the same weight in silence. Braille Bridge was created for those parents — a place where they can find practical information, hear from families with lived experience, reconnect with their own sense of hope, and take the next step with greater confidence.
You are not alone. We are here to walk this journey with you.
